Yep. Counting the one pickup they took off my tablet while delivering the 3 pallets of food I had 3 missed pickups and 1 missed delivery yesterday. #### it, not my problem, I just go and do what the tablet says, no more no less. I used to be a "good driver"- I would go into the trailer mid route and move the freight around once I had enough room to do so and cut out a lot of wasteful backtracking and get everything delivered and picked up. Some of the rerouting miracles I pulled off to fix management's ####ty routing and loading were epic. I got burned out on being the terminal manager's crutch- why should he do his job when he knows I will fix his and the dock's mistakes because I give a ####. #### that ####, no more. I do my job and my job only.Bob Dobalina, Mike2633 and LoneCowboy Thank this. -
You guys are having a wonderful week! I've been driving in circles on third shift again, on a yard jockey bid. I'm having fun, though Schneider is annoying us by sending in drivers to deliver stuff and having them bobtail out never to be seen again. I've got 41 of their blasted pumpkin boxes in my way.

just put the trailers out by the road. Not your problem.
road_runner Thanks this. -
@LoneCowboy I would love to, but there isn't room on the shoulder. We stash our own stuff that we don't want drivers from other yards swiping out there, and the other shoulder is a ditch.
Here's my ride...I'm one of 2 guys that actually likes this one. The others prefer our older rattier Ottawa's. Joke's on them, this one has absolutely killer AC (and you need it, sitting on top of an engine in a glass box).
This happened this morning, to one of our leased storage trailers (in other words, not road legal and never leaves the property). Went to pull it out of a dock, lifted it, and heard something dragging. The welds holding the landing gear brackets to the crossmembers had all rusted out.

Hi guys,
So today, I had a back haul get to the back haul and get a dock right away fine. Get the trailer set up and ready to go and were off great.
So there loading the trailer, keep in mind the dock next to me is an OTR truck one that I see pretty regularly at the food terminal from a company in PA small time company.
So okay they load the trailer, fine, well some time goes by and I never got the high sign from the freezer that I was loaded and ready to go. So I'm waiting waiting waiting, and I haven't felt the fork lift go in the trailer in some time. The OTR truck next to me is also kind of in the same deal, he's been there a while to now and I haven't seen his trailer shake either. He's kind of just sitting there in limbo too.
Finally I decide something is up so I walk over to the office and figured I would get yelled at, but the woman who works there said "Usually you guys come in when your done." I said "Uhh excuse me usually your warehouse workers or you people call me on the telephone to tell me when your done."
As I was saying this the OTR driver in the dock next to me was also walking into the office and he heard me telling her this and I pulled out my cell phone and lit up the screen and said "Where's it say I missed your call here?" I don't see any missed calls here on my phone as I put my phones screen right in her face.
All she could say was "Well they just know when were done." Errr wrong unacceptable answer, what if I left a skid on the dock or worse just thought well I'm done let me just pull away from the dock while there's a tow motor or something inside of it.
See back in the old days I could stand on the dock and watch them load, but the freezer changed the way they do business and now we can't do that.
Anyhow I see the OTR driver now standing there and he's shaking his head and chuckling a little bit and I said to him "Sir did you get a call telling you that you were done?"
He goes "No as a matter of fact I didn't and I hadn't felt the tow motor go in and out of the truck either, in sometime, so I decided I to would walk to the office to see what was up. I had two different PO's, but still I thought the same thing a pretty good amount of time had passed as well."
So anyhow, I got my bills and ended up leaving and on the way out a freezer worker was walking down the street and he said "Oh you guys have been done for sometime." I said "Nobody called us or told us and I pointed to the OTR truck next to me and said "Also same for him."
The freezer worker went "Ahh it's no big deal it'll be alright, the main guy took off so there just winging it in the office it's no biggie next time will call you."
In retrospect while it's stupid and annoying they upped our back haul pay and it's paid by the hour so the freezer lack of communication cost Gordon's $57.00 bucks.LoneCowboy, misterG and G13Tomcat Thank this. -

I had a good laugh on the way home today.
I was about 15 minutes from the yard, and knucklehead in the office starts blowing my phone up and sending me messages wanting me to do a D/H across the street from the terminal.
Those went ignored, afte I busted out laughing.
Now, by the time I punch out I'll be just barely out of a logbook. I had 15 deliveries plus 5 pickups, AND the interline freight on top of a 300 mile run. One of the those pickups was in another driver's area that he AND another came right past on their way back, and to add insult to injury somebody now wants to ADD to my already long day???
Yeah, ok. Smoke another one.Gearjammin' Penguin, LoneCowboy, road_runner and 3 others Thank this. -

Holy crap... Thanks for all those that donated to my collection of pro stickers. Current collection is about 8-9 companies. Keeping them in a frame to protect them until I get a bigger display to show them off.
Special thanks to @MACK E-6 @Bob Dobalina and @Gearjammin' Penguin for their donations. I absolutely appreciate it!!!
