That's what I'm hoping to get on with; Walmart dedicated with US Xpress.

No trucker, lest not yet. Just someone who deals with you guys on a regular basis, an has friends an family in the industry.

So...many thanks to you all for what you do day in an day out. From the truckers who looked out for me when I drove to Az, or back to DC or wherever to the guys who bumped the docks when I did receiving and shipping for a living, to the guys who come an pick up the stuff I ship out west for the work I do now.( I smash electronics for a living. Nice stress relief. ;) I ship using pallets hence why I deal with big rigs an shipping my stuff) My thanks an respect. Not that your life wouldn't go on if I hadn't posted this but hey...it's nice to be appreciated at times eh?

Your job is a thankless one a lot of the time, but...some of us evil 4 wheeler's tho have respect for what you do. Safe travels....an remember, somewhere out there is a 4 wheeler who isn't all "EFF TRUCKERS!" an will let you in, or pass, or merge, or will it lest get the hell out of the way when he sees you hammering down. ;)

Ever visit my sandbar...drop a pm. I know plenty of a good place for a cold beer, soda, or just a good meal.

Don't discount regards job boards. Have a friend who just this week landed a local gig. He found it on Indeed.com, it's not even a trucking company.

James would look Everytime he want home but there was never much where he lives in Eastern NC, but about a month ago, he was he and a job popped up for a truck driver and he applied, went in for the interview and was hired. It is at a factory, they have one truck driver position. The last guy had been there 20 years and had just left to buy his own rig and hit the road.

This place is 12 miles from his House, Monday to Friday, Hourly pay, no logbook.

If you look hard, keep your eyes and ears open, you will find what suits you, but it may take some time. James has been on the road about 2 years.

Me I am an old road dog and like my coast to coast runs. To each their own.

Saw an ad on Indeed.com for Kenosha, WI hauling Tankers of Chocolate for a food grade company called LCL Bulk Transport. I imagine that viscosity or surge wouldn't be to bad for Chocolate.

Of course, they want that year experience and I'm just about to 8 months.

It shouldn't be any worse than asphalt, honestly. Man, 8 clean months, GIVE THEM A CALL. You know, @Chinatown is a proven fact that many companies that 'claim' they want a year, will sure bend their own rules. Especially with all the dregs in society...(oops, wrong thread, lol.) Inside joke, but there's a whole ballgame going on at that one.

Seriously tho, man. With 3/4 of a year in and a clean MVR, DAC, PSP... WELL worth a shot. Don't even concern yourself with the surge; you'll acclimate to it, albeit not even that bad with chocolate, I'd presume.

Best wishes; I'd go for it!

It's definitely worth asking. Foodliner was strict on the two-years of experience rule, though, so you never can tell. But it never hurts to ask.

And yeah, food grade tanker is nice. I love flatbedding, but if I get to the point where I can't do it, I'd definitely look for a tanker job again.

And I'm the flip of that...if I can't yank a tank; I'll pull a board for sure. No boxes for this guy, either!! Thanks man.

The road is a double edged sword my brother I spent my first couple of years in trucking OTR.and team driving. Been off the road for about 4 years now local tanker yanker, home 99% of the time, and make more than I ever did OTR. Yet I still find myself day dreaming about the open road, and all the beautiful places I use to see. I then proceed to slap myself and try not to take out the prius in front of me while sitting in rush hour traffic.
