ive only been with mercer since may. before coming here part of my research of the company was this forum. i pretty much ignored the glowing reviews and extreme hate cause they kinda cancel each other out and looked for facts about how the company works. yes, i talked to drivers and did some other stuff too. i love it here.
but now that im satisfied i am looking through and reading more posts and am so fn entertained by the haters. some of the stuff guys ##### about and turn into end of the world ####. just cracks me up.CJndaTruck, whoopNride, L.B. and 5 others Thank this. -
Right there with you brother

I started after you in June. I like it here but there is hick ups so to speak here just like any other company...If there wasn't they wouldn't have orientation every week. I personally feel that certain guys on here portray Mercer as all high dollar freight, and it's just simple cut an drive straight to the bank with a big check... They leave out the part of how much dead head they do, how much sitting they do, or those "cheap" loads they do to get them in between good paying loads... Misconceptions... I'm still learning the ropes of not only Mercer but being a green O/O which for me has brought back the thrill of being a driver... It had gotten really really old 4 me.whoopNride and Chickadee Thank this.

i think they expect you will know what your personal acceptable % deadhead is already cause it is part of the industry. as for those cheap loads, its our choice to take em or not. personally i will take em sometimes to get to a better load but only short runs and not clear across the country. im still learning where the good customers are so dont get all the good pays plus im van so rates arent what you see guys mentioning for flats. june was my 1st full month here and my net was higher than i expected with all miles avg being just below the national avg so i count that as pretty good. should improve as i learn the areas better.
