Not a lot of info in the Estes section.
They're a LTL outfit, like ODFL or Saia. We were contracted to them for a short time back in '06 as team linehaul, and their operation was fairly typical of most LTL - P&D, solo line/meet and turn, with team OTR - some of which they did, and still do - contract out.JP89 Thanks this. -
Team driving regional ?
When I was with Covenant we pulled Estes doubles for about a month out of Oregon for that "otr" run they call.. It was basically a triangular route and we would end up back at the first terminal in Oregon every 5 days..I'm assuming the Estes guys got home after those 5 days, but since my partner and I lived in Florida we were pretty much doing odd work until the next run.. I don't know if Covenant still does that run, but I have seen other megas doing this ,most of them have bent mudflap brackets lol
I've also seen the Estes solo day cab guys doing this run, they would be out for about 4-6 days doing regional otr drops and spending their 10hr break in a motelJP89 Thanks this. -
So you left them because OD payed more, is that right ? I've got my app with Estes for linehaul region. Out for 5 than home, on weekends I hope. TM never returns my calls is that a bad sign or are they just really busy. Thanksblairandgretchen Thanks this.

No - we left the company that hauled trailers FOR Estes.
We applied to them directly, but they never called back, so ODFL we went.X-Country Thanks this. -
out 5, home 2. They will assign you a start day for the week. Whatever that start day is, it will never change from what I was told in my interview. Your dispatch times on that day will vary though.
It's all terminal to terminal runs. No alley backing in Brooklyn at 11 pm at night or anything like that. Go to the terminal, drop and go to a hotel. Do your 10, get up next day and do it all over again.
My app is awaiting approval. Hoping I get on. Ready to make some money!Trucker61016 Thanks this. -
What kind of money do you guys average? Is 90-100k realistic?
-
That might be pushing it. I don't know maybe not. Guys that were on bid runs St. Louis to Dallas were flirting with 90k. But that's 610 miles a day everyday. Extraboard guys get paid a touch more though if I recall. If you can keep your nose to the grindstone and build and break sets as much as possible you probably won't be too far from that.BackIsSore and bzinger Thank this.

Depends on terminal, once you top out (3 years) and get some time in yes very plausible.

Estes use to have OTR but got rid of it in the past. It was called Estes Specialized
