Having driven both Eatons and Volvos, I feel your pain.

Volvos might have their electronic issues, but MAN can they build an automatic tranny. Eaton autos suck the high hard one all day. Eaton needs to send their designers over to Sweden and have them learn what to do.

I've been known to hit docks with full force backing the auto petes at my last job. Awful transmission in those. They also would just sit for 5 seconds between shifts thinking of what gear to use.

Lol . Yes they are horrible

I have heard people speak highly of the Volvo/Mack autos and also the dt12 in the Freightliner line. You don't see those guys lunging and losing their minds backing up to a dock . As a matter of fact the freightliner tranny sounds just like the volvo shifting(besides all that extra air fluttering) so maybe freightliner took your advice with their dt12 .

I have the DT12 in my truck. I like it a lot. It has creeper mode for forward and reverse; no quirky lunging.

Doesn't the new Eaton trans have the creeper mode too?

I live in Asheboro about 30 miles south of Greensboro and I get home whenever I ask. Have a good amount of runs to Fayetteville area and Kings Mountain.

I think it's two weeks. I'm usually home every two weeks sometimes three and I usually take 3 days off.
