Alright everyone @ZachG91 right now I'm actually at home and am on high alert.

The warehouse went down and had a melt down around 10pm last night. It got up and running approximately 2 hours later, but was running at half pace. Before going down again.

My route was being used as a training route today so I was with someone else today anyhow, but that all went to poooo when I received a transmission from my boss asking me to dust off my doubles endorsement. Uh-oh spaghetti O's.

So I called my boss he said don't go on that route with that other guy and go back to the office. So I did just that went back to the office. We did manage to get 5 skip day routes out, but still had one at our yard that didn't make it.

Anyhow radio chatter across the voice mail system was a whole entire mess of stop n go and stop and start.

At 4:30am my boss dispatched me to Pittsburgh to take a set of doubles out that way.

While I was in the yard getting ready to hook up, I had to build a set, I got a call to stand down and come back to the office.

Fine more radio chatter over voice mail, (which is code for stop start wait don't wait go don't go, nobody knows who really has there hands on the trigger.) Needless to say the panic switch had already been flipped actually it had been flipped so many times it was tore off the wall.

Of course my boss is trying to figure out what the bloody heck is going on so he tries to get in touch with our night transit drivers. Nothing blank all of our transit drivers went dark and underground. The last radio transmission was from a Lorain transit driver at 3am saying things were in distress and the warehouse had sent out a faint SOS. (I'm paraphrasing of course.) After that radio chatter from our transit drivers went silent and this song started
    playing:

It was all stop go and nobody knows I went out to help a skip day driver and took another guy with me in the cargo van.

Around 7:44am I got a call to bring my self back in the van to the office. Now I'm told that I need to be back at 11:00am to head to Pittsburgh because they have 2 sets ready for pick up they think at 2pm.

My boss and an assistant boss took a set of doubles to Pittsburgh there probably almost there by now.

Just maybe a few minutes ago one of our other drivers called me asking what I knew about anything and it's not much. Our one manager is at our yard sitting in the dark figuratively.

100+ trucks idle and 100+ drivers on standby.

Around 4-5am warehouse management pulled the plug on the day and sent the warehouse and transit home, but for some reason left 2 Lorain and 1 Cleveland skip route loaded and sitting in there yard.

Right before I was told to leave for PA for the first time our resident volume truck driver had already left for the warehouse they told him I was going to be behind him with an empty set of 28s he figured all the commotion and radio chatter doesn't mean anything to him and 99% of the time he would be right, but a ways in his journey he noticed that there were no other 50' volume drivers headed the other way on I-76 headed into Ohio. So he got a little worried and pulled off to the side and telephoned who ever at the warehouse and they told him to stand down and turn around. So that's good now you have a stray 50' volume truck out there that turned around. That guy came back logged out and went home said he was done working.

I'm sure there's also some rouge chain driver a long way from home far away and probably some rouge far off distant drop lot driver who also made it out and wasn't caught in the commotion.

So anyhow, were a full day behind going to be playing catch up for 2 days now. This hasn't happened really in my time, but I guess a few years Springfield was down for like 2 days and it was a back up of biblical proportions hot and heavy just like the weather outside today, people who lived through that back up are still talking about it to this day.

From now on whenever I think I'm having a bad day, I'll read Mike's post, realize it's going better than I thought, and feel pretty good. Hope it gets straightened out soon. Getting yanked 50 different directions because no one knows what is going on sucks.

Bad times in the south lanes of 65 in Indiana this morning. Today must be Stupid Day. Two trucks on fire. A multi vehicle accident involving a big truck going into the construction, and a two-car wreck. All between Edinburgh and Louisville, and all at the same time. Lucky me to be headed North.

    OMG

    what a disaster
one plus is you don't have to be in customer service listening to those phone calls.

don't worry though, no one will lose their job or be demoted, it's nobody fault. (/sarcasm)

So what happened, electricity go out, computers crash or something else at your warehouse? That sucks just starting off the week though.
