A "wargun" to some is anything that looks like something that appeared in an Arnold Schwarzenegger movie.

I defy anyone to produce for me ONE iota of evidence that ANY country on the face of the planet is arming their militaries with the likes of the American AR-15.

I could support something like what Videodrome describes in exchange for a repeal of the NFA of 1934 in its entirety, AND striking the Hughes Amendment from the FOPA of 1986.

Here in MD we have a completely redundant and unnecessary infringement imposed in 2013 and known as the "Handgun Qualification License". All this does is subjects you to a background check before you're issued a plastic card, which you need to purchase a handgun so you can be subject to the exact same background check again.

In exchange for the above mentioned repeals, I could support something along the lines of a "machine gun qualification license", which would require a demonstration of some sort of competence with the firearm in question, and you'd do that by basically proving that you can shoot the thing without it getting away from you, which can lead to disastrous consequences in itself. This would be required on every full auto firearm one chooses to own, since calibers do vary, and would have to be redone regularly, once a year or whatever.

The whole reason we even have these novelty contraptions such as bump fire stocks and binary triggers is because of the aforementioned laws, doing away with which would cause that demand to vanish almost overnight.

The issue is in the heat of action the owner may not be able to place their finger on the sensor .

It is interesting how many of the folks who would love to eliminate the 2nd amendment are the same one's who claim Trump is the next Hitler.

There's one thing that should be illegal and that's this gizmo thingy the killer bought online to make his rifle into a fully automatic. He was shooting like 900 rounds a minute.

He broke over a hundred (if not more) other laws already on the books. That didn't stop him.

Outlaw bump stocks and anyone who really wants one will find it on the black market.

Police and FBI said there were no red flags he didn't have a record so I can't see where he broke any laws until that horrific event. Its impossible to stop killers but a fully automatic is illegal so that online gizmo should be as well.I don't think the 2nd amendment should be abolished but they should be stricker.

Bump fire stocks are on sale on Gunbroker now for two to three times retail value.

Big stores like Walmart and Cabelas have removed that item from the websites and potentially any in stock at stores.

Bidding is very heavy in face of a Congress eager to make sale, purchase, possesion of bumpfires illegal.

But for this week, those who can purchase a bunch retail, then turn around and sell on gunbroker are making a killing profit. And who can blame them for profiteering. Everytime there is a mass shooting or problem sufficient to arouse Congress from it's somelanace (Sleep) people have a way to make money off something related to that, especially if something gained noriety or infamy like the bumpfire stock.

There is one thought. At least one of the weapons used had to have been full auto. That would I think be the first time in these United States since the Al Capone gangster wars that a automatic Class III Tax stamp weapon was used in a crime.

One more thing. Once Las Vegas identified the shooter on a particular floor and room, you would think with certain special assets such as the Barret or other powerful anti material guns availible to swat of a major police force, why did they not take a shot into the window to take the shooter out from the street? There was also no shortage of scoped long rifles capable of that type of engagement during the attack up and down the entire strip.

It matters not. Whatever happened happened, what is about to happen in the near future will also play out in it's time.

    Until the next mass shooting....

They just released a statement from his GF, apparently the big money transfer and plain ticket to the Philippines was his “break up gift” to her, and he was witnessed being abusive to her in public. He obviously had something that was building his anger up to a put where he wanted revenge upon the world for something.
