Just started following this thread a short time ago. I'm curious as to the ratio of automatic to manual. 2015 and newer are auto? Spoke with one of you guys up in Jersey on the CB and they did mention that the older units are passed down to the other accounts that you guys have.

Well that's cool!

I don't have the answer to your specific question, but I do know if you talk to the recruiter he can work worth you to get what you prefer, subject to availability. They aren't gonna force a truck on you here. One of us may know the ratio, but our recruiter is literally the one who assigns trucks. He knows exactly what's available.
I will also add that he is a driver as well. He is primarily a recruiter, but occasionally does some driving here and there. He drove full time for Magnum for several years, and I believe he was a trainer for some time. He's not your typical recruiter.Last edited: Oct 11, 2017
Mr klean2k12 Thanks this. -
Thanks @Zata40 I appreciate that. It seems like alot of companies are moving towards automatics which is a good and bad for the industry I guess. Over here in the North East it's a big help but it seems like there's less control unlike using a manual.

That ta at wapakoneta is also one of the very few Truckstops I'll get a steak in. Boise Stage Stop and the Petro at Rochelle (unless things went down hill there) are good, too! Thanks for the info! The Apollo 15 capsule is at the Dayton museum along with a bazillion other aircraft and relics.mattbh23 Thanks this.

What year is your truck? Is it part of that recall?

There's always manual mode on the automatics...I prefer using that if I know I've gotta shift and I want to do the shifting and not be "surprised"...I don't like skid marks...on the road or my drawers!txtodd, mattbh23 and Mr klean2k12 Thank this.

Finally get hooked up with a load west. Will get to cr tonight, drop my load that a local will del tomorrow and I'll be ready to boogity booggity with a load coming from Barron to Washburn OR for Sun morning. Gotta time it just right depending on when I get it. Thankfully there is the Aurora Truckstops 1 exit south. Also got some good info about when my perf based pay will kick in. I thought it would begin next month but got word that it'll be next trimester. So I've been really concerned about lack of miles for nothing...for now anyway. That takes a load off my mind!! Thanks to (who I call) the Col for straightening me out on that! Everything else going good. Coming up on a mid service but will worry about that later. I know they like doing it at our shops but if we're not around, we're not around. So...all that whining and worry for naught. Now...let's take a look at the weather...
mattbh23 Thanks this. -
Getting a reload in Arlington and I am a work in...5 hours and counting ...doing a load swap and then headed to GA...trying to figure out how they're going to get serviced for this reefer and get that sensor fixed.

We are moving towards all Auto
All the 17s and 18s are Autos.... I think that’s about 40+ trucks. Most of the 15s and 16s are manual 10 speeds. There are some autos mixed in with those....25 out of 150?? maybe?
So my guess is about 40% of the fleet is auto.... but ALL new trucks will be auto....mattbh23 and Mr klean2k12 Thank this.
