You don't need an atlas on a professional driver's truck. There will already be one on board. You can expect a decent trainer to gift you a flashlight, gloves, atlas, meals all kinds of perks while you are out with him since you are making him extra money per week.

You can buy an atlas at every truckstop, and reasonably priced. Just after 1st of year the old ones might be $10.

As a perfectionist, you can't do everything in advance or buy everything you need until you get on the road. Some guys work for years without a pen or flashlight. Don't sweat everything. Focus on the basics and do the other stuff as you really need it.

    AfterShock and 1278PA Thank this.

Wear long pants and nobody but you will know. I also wear steel toe shoes with knobby soles, Cintas Airdisk. They last 2 years, easily. $60 Cintas.com

The CDL school requires it to teach trip planning.

My bad, I thought you were going on the trainer's truck right away.

Good to see you're pulling the trigger after two years! I know you will do well.

Yep tough when your working and taking care of a disabled parent at the same time to focus on trucking. But now I have things squared away.

I'm sorry I was unaware of your personal situation. I just recall you've been a member here for a long time, honestly I got the impression you were indecisive. My apologies for being so judgemental, truly. Again, welcome to the trucking community.

    1278PA Thanks this.

In thought we all decided you weren't going with Stevens, didn't you get the memo?.
