ET: I forgot to mention that I want to drive in the se regiion once I have completed my training. Can I still make a lot of money doing that? How is the home time with SE?

And that was it for the week. Only thing I'm offered. Stanwood, MI p/u Friday at 10am. And they want it delivered Saturday, NE of Indy at 230 a.m. Sat.... Not enough time to get there and put in a 10, too much time to p/u and del within a 14.... told them to either get an earlier p/u or a later del. After a 1400 and a 1600 mi week this month(without being affected by any home time) I am not stinking for 3 days, or f'g the logbook to show a break. I won't get a shower tonight, no place in between p/u and del to get a free shower, and I cant afford to pay for one, and if I just go straight down there, then no shower tomorrow night. I am down to $60 a week to eat on...and my wife and daughter are eating on less. Thank god they sell food at Dollar General.. I plan on speaking to my local unemployment office once I return home to see if I qualify for partial unemployment, if not, I'll go to the food stamp office and get food stamps....in my Crete uniform... I am very close to starting down the path of bankruptcy....but hey....we got all the empty trucks filled!!!...and the boss' are still making the same this check as they did all the rest of the time!! It would be nice if their paycheck floated based on the income their slave drivers make. But they don't care that much. I mean make a sacrifice for us dogs? C'mon. It's easier to kick us to the curb and refill our truck with someone cheaper.

    4 more days.... ohmmmmm.....ohmmmmmm.....ohmmmm

I here ya super it was the same way at the rolloff co. i worked at....fill the trucks so i can keep making 200.00 wk and they make 5 less an hour then me..keep them on.there must be somethin to that that im missing.my motto keep they guy even tho he may make more but not going to wreck anything and get the job done faster..thats just my idea tho..good thing my wife works cuz i'd be on the streets by now..wonder if they are havin alchol at the xmas party? LOL

i'll have 1586 when i drop in the am and thats if i get it transflowed in time...which i will make it a point to... sheeeeeeeeeet its cold up here in il.!

and for bankruptcy, on my way there also sad thing is im not behind on my payments but they say i am and im in forcloser already...lawyer says wait til we go to court and they have to cover everything (costs) cuz i can prove the payments. but this could be a book if i kept going on about this subject.

well gl and hope ur miles pick up...maybe i'll see you in the food kitchen ;)

Do you think Crete will increase the cpm back to 42 cents starting pay? I thought I heard they would once the fuel prices went down. Or was it when the economy got better, more freight, or was it....

I'm looking at the Crete "Driver Qualification Application" on page 4 (of 7) under the heading "Physical Condition" It asks are you physically capable of heavy manual work that may be requird in the loading and unloading of cargo and the operation of over-the-road tractors and semi-trailers? I'm tempted to say No, but that probably won't enhance my chances of getting hired. So what kind of physical test do they put you through. I'm in good shape for an old guy, but my knees are feeling their age and I won't be qualifying in any 50 yard dashes.

I havn't had to touch freight yet...3 months and counting. Maybe some of the folks who have been here longer have.

Can tell you that there are no physical tests above and beyond the ones required by DOT.
