Once ELD becomes law truckers will be doing well to break over 2000 miles a week. Store shelves will be going bare ... for a while.... til they hire 1,000,000 18-21 year olds to help take up the slack in lost ELD production. The blood on the highways will be EPIC. Then 18 months after the carnage, Paper Logs will rule the day and the ELD Mandate will rank right up there with other failed policies like paying taxes to the British Crown and Prohibition.

And you base that assertion on what evidence? I for one have been using e-logs for about 7 years and can easily run 2500-3000 miles a week with time to spare when I park my truck at home on the weekend.
peterd and spyder7723 Thank this. -

My regular Lane is two runs, 3500 +/- miles a week. Each is a direct turn around loaded each way no deadhead.
The ELD has the real possibility of cutting my production in half of i can't make it happen every week i will lose the second load.
That's a huge impact on my income thanks to the generation of Idiocracy. -
ELD will expose such lanes so you can adjust your pricing to account for your desired gross/profit target.DoubleO7 and spyder7723 Thank this. -
An interesting way to measure the value/rate on a particular lane is to calculate the run based on driving & on-duty hours spent.

The entrenched players would not like the conclusions. It might lead to an "awakening"
