Where can i get a decent heat torch that won't cost $200 lol

Pete go to northern tool or harbor freight. Buy the small set you will use it many times . It is a good investment .

 

The only way to go less than 200.00 is to get someone to show up to heat it. Or you can buy one at harbor freight 319.00 and get a 20% off coupon online to knock off 64.00, get the tanks filled for around 30.00 and have a tool of many uses.Portable Torch Kit with Oxygen and Acetylene Tanks

 

In one of my previous lives, I used this. Worked great in the automotive industry. I'm pretty sure it'll work on trucks, too.

Harbor freight has decent ones. I have a 30 year old victor i use for fine fabricating cutting and a heavy duty one i bought at harbor freight for general heating/cutting. They also had a light/medium duty one that would be better for you.

Edit: prices have doubled since i bought mine. see next post for my suggestion of what you should get.

 

@TruckerPete1990 buy this one and buy separately the two small tanks. That portable set listed above doesn't have the welding end for brazing nor the extras such as cutting goggles, tip cleaner, striker, etc.

I lease my tanks from a local welding shop, i either have them come by house on their route , or take em in myself and swap for an empty
