I think the apu on this unit sucks too. My trainers truck was always a sauna, and Im listening to his run all night. Not sure if mine is shutting off but #### its cold in here. Just started the truck to let it idle and warm up.

Sometimes you have to turn the temp all the way up for 10 or 15 min on those fuel fired bunk heaters, especially if the truck has been sitting. Could be the unit needs servicing, the various burner chamber parts are suppose to be serviced/cleaned once a year.Winnyf1 Thanks this.

Temp is maxed out lol. I'll have to keep an eye on it.
-
If you look out your window when it tries to start, and see a lot of smoke coming from behind your sleeper, it's a sign it needs serviced. A little smoke is normal, but a lot of smoke isn't
-
Check to see if the air in take under the bunk is blocked that happened to me all the time
-
Intake isnt blocked. Ill have to watch out the window next time to see what it does.

Isn’t it like -20 ??? Maybe it’s just too cold out to keep up. When you put your hand in front of the blower, is it warm?
Just get it serviced next time your near a shop.Xeres63 Thanks this. -
If it’s that cold, you should be idling anyway. Don’t shut that truck off until the temps are above 10-15 above.

The APU and the bunk heater are separate units. The bunk heater can and will operate without the APU (will cause drain on batteries). If you have to idle you need to cut the cruise control on and set it to idle around 1000 to 1100 RPMs. Check with Jeff or Paul and make sure on RPM range (to keep from clogging DPF filter faster).
