When it’s that cold out you need to close the curtains from the sleeper to the cab. It keeps the warm air in a confined space. I #### my truck off the other night in Iowa when the temperature was below 0. It had a hard time keeping up. Not sure what year your truck is but it may need servicing or it’s just old. They don’t last forever unfortunately. Idle to survive. Driver comfort is number 1!

You made a blanket statement. I was focusing on said statement. If you screwed up, please admit it so we can move on. But don't try to divert me from the statement YOU made in a Magnum thread, by telling me that I shouldn't be discussing YOUR statement in said thread, Fred.

If you have time ask the shop to rebuild your bunk heater, that will help - let Chad know your idling and it won’t hurt your performance. Try different solutions and find what works for you, if I run my bunk heater full blast I’m good down to -5, much below that and I idle.

I never worked for any of those companies and I was responding to someone else asking about those companies. I’ve heard horror stories that’s what I was saying don’t go there. Smaller companies treat their employees better in MY OPINION... can we move on now?

We've all heard horror stories, mostly from unprepared drivers who wanted to be businessmen. Many didn't have a pot to pizz in when they started; yet believed that 3000 miles alone was magically going to free them from the bonds of their ignorance.

Barring unfortunate circumstances, the ones with brains for business CAN make it in a l/p, predominantly because they start out by finding a company that wants to see success to come from their program. Success to all involved; not just the company itself. There are companies out there like that.

I'd like to ask. Do your APU's heat the engine and fuel lines/system? Otherwise, when cold, you don't idle for the engine's good? Fuel system?

My new year resolution is to turn my paperwork in on time.

You hear that? That’s the sound of the office rejoicing!

And that one...? That’s the sound of the fleet efficiency guy saying “I’ll believe it when I see it.”

    Don’t be like me.
