As the avg cost of fuel continues to go up, you will eventually have no fuel costs and possibly make a profit every time you fill the tanks thanks to the fsc. About 5 years ago we started with CRE, we went the lease operator route. Fuel was running pretty high then and we were paying very little to nothing for fuel. Of course we drove at 58 mph to avg close to 8 mpg and bought cheap fuel. We actually made good money but we were never going to own that truck as it was a terrible lease deal. Also we were treated like crap, like getting calls to come off hometime after 2-3 days. This after being out 10-12 weeks and had two weeks of hometime scheduled! Looking back, I now see we only made good money because of the fsc and mpg. So glad we eventually brought our good business sense over to JCT.

On the subject of cheap fuel, the Maverick in Winslow presently has their pumps blocked off. Was looking to top off only to be disappointed. Oh well, can still make it to Holbrook.

I don't understand the reason people use not to replace a simple license plate light. $3 and less than 5 mintues to pop a new one in and you get reimbursed for it. This trailer I swapped had a burned out license plate light. I replaced it, but no reason the previous drivers couldn't have done it.

Yeah, I should have specified other than laziness. Just being a semi truck makes use a bigger target for law enforcement (nothing against them; most are just doing their job), I don't need anything to make that an easier target. Making sure all the lights work is simplest thing a driver can do make that target harder to hit.

Picking up bulk apples in Flat Rock, NC (Richmind Co) and this the friendliest place I have ever picked up. I was greeted at the door and was asked if I had the trailer tag number. When I said no and went to turn around to go get, I was stopped and told no worries, I'll get for you while you check in with the clerk there at the desk. Lady behind the desk was super friendly also and the wash out guy also.

Asked about truck parking in the area and they said no worries, park wherever you want here and no one will bother you.

Felt weird not being treated like a piece of excrement.

Speaking of the license plate light has anyone noticed that most police officers never check theirs. I notice that a lot of them ride around with theirs not working.

Somehow I've managed to loose my stapler in my truck.
All day long I've been looking for it doing my very best Milton from Office Space impression. :biggrin_2556:
