By imposing fines hefty enough to make one choose between compliance or closing shop. This is not only a CA issue because as usually happens: First CA, then eastward.
Fortunately, this has not been followed by other states - yet!

    Oxbow and snowwy Thank this.

Word on the street was. That california wants to get rid of DEF trucks. Now they say the def is worse then non def trucks.

That's probably what the OP's driver was talking about.

I heard that today from a small 20 truck owner who was packing fuel to the dairy i was at today. He's the owner of the company. Said he read it on overdrive. I"m searching for the article to post it. If it's true.

Cali lawmakers giving up on CARB regulations is like a Texan giving up their guns while they're still breathing...I think Satan will be shoveling snow in Hell before either happens

The owner i talked to said he read it on overdrive. I couldn't find anything on their websight. A search for anything California don't pop up on overdrive.com I don't know if it was published in a magazine.

In all seriousness, I wouldn't put too much stock into something I heard on the CB.

It is actually against the law to tell a lie on the CB. The FCC enforces it as vigorously as they do profanity and CBs over 4 watts.
