If you don't mind me asking, do you go home on weekends or do you stay out? How many miles are you averaging a week? With the company I am at now I see alot of mercer dryvans going west on I-80 in oregon and heading up to washington. Do you know anything about those loads? I spoke to a couple guys who said those loads pay extremely well and they have backhauls coming east. I talked to Mike Hines and he said dryvans are averaging $1.60-1.74 a mile. He said their grossing from 12-15k a month. Does this sound accurate to you?

 

It sounds like dry van is doing good then. My wife has been worried I was making a mistake so hopefully these answers will ease her mind..lol! Looking forward to coming aboard!

 

We have a far amount of loads going to the NW but on average they seem to be sub $1.50 and the loads coming back east are fewer and usually cheaper. I've ran a few loads to ID for $1.50ish and we have direct customers from ID back to OH and they pay mid $1.30's. Not the greatest rate per mile, but if you have the hours and the days/times work you can gross TTT $5500 on 7 days.

 

It's a dedicated run so if it cancels so im be upset:/

 

How many of you guys request to see pictures before you commit to a tarped load? Mainly 8 foot tarp?

 

not me i ask if its created or not.. If they say no i stay away unless its decent rate

 

That's a good idea. I'm going to starting asking that.

 

I'm gonna do between 12-13k for Jan. Didn't come out till the 5th and home at least one day every weekend. So those number sound about right to me.
