As on July 1, 2017 IN raised their fuel 10¢ and no longer does the surcharge. You are credited just like most other states.

You need to include "in my experience" with your statement cause your statement is not 100% true. I don't run coast to coast because I don't see any money in it. I do much better than $1.35 a mile & I stay east of I-35. So while your comment may reflect your experience & a few buddies experiences, it's not the only way to make money pulling a van at Mercer. So by you stating that is the ONLY way to make money I'm going to say you don't have a clue. I don't run coast to coast cause I don't see any money in it. I also don't run forklifts cause they don't pay enough.Last edited: Feb 2, 2018
drvrtech77 and thaistick Thank this. -
Now I know you're full of it cause forklifts are the Van bread and butter SMH. You can't possibly be making food money and not run forklifts.. It's impossible..

This comment just shows your ignorance. Forklifts pay about $1.40 a mile on average unless they go to the NE. That's too cheap for me. I've ran one forklift load since I've been here & I'm making plenty of money without them. Go pull your flat & shut up about the van side. You don't have a clue.drvrtech77 and HalpinUout Thank this.

I've been at Mercer with a van for almost 2 years now and have hauled plenty of forklift loads and only a handful anywhere near $1.40 a mile. The cheap ones tend to be coast to coast, the more profitable ones more SE to midwest (and northeast, but who in their right mind wants those). In 2016 van loads were among the more profitable ones but in 2017 there was a lot of other freight that paid better for me.

That's the same thing in seeing with the forklift loads.

Guess you guys need better coordinators and or negotiate more money from the brokers because I've hauled forklifts from NC to Cali for 5k.. Multiple stops yes but still over 5k.. Just saying

Along with my deadhead being paid for

You going to be running heavy shingles for a month? Lol. When I see guys using those at Owens Corning it's only 1 strap...EDIT... Maybe it's the 24" that I'm seeing them use 1 strap on.

I run forklifts when it makes sense to do it, usually to get home. Ive seen loads that are above 4500 with deadhead going to the west coast but its not enough to offset the load out of the west. Only good loads ive seen coming out of cali are exhibit loads and ive got better things to do than sit 12 hrs waiting to be loaded.
