I do that too. But my “buffer button” only gives me a one hour extension. :( Darn Sterling trucks!

HOURS OF SERVICE SUCK, the ELD only forces that fact to come out.

OOIDA won't make any difference, there are bigger issues that they should have gone after, but I don't see any group of truckers actually organizing.

    Good read.

I Don't care what the E-Logs or Rules say.............

If Im Kept at a shipper/receiver past my time, I'm Surely Not Going to be staying there.

my Health and Well-Being Supercedes any half-### FMCSA mandate or E-Log.

I Will NOT Be without Water,Food ,People to Converse with and a Bathroom.

They Don't Like it, That's just Tough.

Truckers were limited to 10 hours driving for 60 some years. They added the 11th hour in 2004 as the 'buffer' so drivers could max out their 10 and use the buffer to find legal parking. Over time drivers wanted to use the 11th hour as a productivity hour, *then* think about parking.

The rationale I read was the FMCSA wanted to move drivers to more regular hours and a more normal circadian rhythm..

Depends on the job, but that isn't realistic for everyone. So back off the reason to being a buffer to make use of the full 10 we had before, except that that rings hollows as well. Especially for those splitting up their day by want or necessity.

Does that part of your post mean we can't get a ticket for a violation flagged by the little black box (ELD) after 8+ days from when it was recorded? I thought the troopers had access to go back in the records as far as they might desire.

Roadside is 8 days, that's what the ELD is supposed to show.

That's all the one I'm using shows.
