OP said "not hired"...it was still a bonehead thing to do but the key is whether he was in orientation or training... Big difference.

 

Depends, some carriers report orientations. The OP said training that would imply hired and in training. Also lets not forget this comment by OP.

 

It’s sucks man. I got fired for checking gps on my cell phone, rolling a stop sign at 15 mph cause I was butt ### tired and not used to running nights all caught on driver cam. I was unemployed for a week and took the first person that called. Told the TM in the interview. He liked I was honest and I had a awesome record besides that. It turned out to be a good job and I stayed for 5 years paid my dues even though starting pay was .39cpm. Now 7 years later I have a good job and two grade A companies that want to hire me. Moral of the story you got to pay your dues when you screw up.

Good thing you weren’t driving. You can say I didn’t know you couldn’t use your phone while unloading. Most companies except probably tankers won’t give it much thought.

 

Always best to be honest dont want to get hired only to lose job for deception.if the want you wont matter just use better judgement in future

You are actually barking up the wrong tree and wasting your time.

You have all the attributes of a freight broker, and should consider that path, not a driver.

A) JB is decent company.
B) JB is going to find out, if they haven't already about your last company, and they are going to ask why you left.
C) JB's safety department is slightly more strict than the Gestapo.

But reading your posts, I can already tell that you think you are smarter than most people, or we wouldn't even know you, cause you would have been humbly following procedure at the tank company.

I don’t understand the need to check a cell. I use mine for Apple Music and audio books, no need to touch it or look at it while on duty.
I check it when I’m done for the day.

 

That's nothing. I used to drink RC Cola while eating moonpies watching my father get his truck washed and serviced. Eat a lot of vienna sausages and crackers too.
