What company you work for? I'm in central FL here and looking at this as a career. Is going 1099 worth it you think still?

depending on where you live and how much experience you have get a local position paying $18-19 a hour starting and does 50-60 hours a week) which averages 1000-1300 a week...maybe more because of OT
because as for me OTR is not where its at -
I've been trucking for almost 30 year's and I'm still not making it like I should I'm only home 3 days a month and I got to fight for that and I have to fight for miles so don't feel bad there's a lot of us out here in the same boat I've been married 3 times second one past a way and I'm waiting for my third one to call it quits good luck

I live in Florida and do fine. You're not going to be purchasing a yacht anytime soon, but you should have no trouble making a good pay check.
The magic number for opportunity is about 2 years. Get 2 years under your belt without tearing up equipment or getting tickets and you can land some good gigs.bigessfour Thanks this. -
And then buy the yacht.Frank Speak Thanks this.

LTL is where the money is at. You also get better benefits, and you're home every day. I was OTR for 5 years making crap money, and never getting home before I figured this out.Lepton1 Thanks this.
