I kept telling them there was a problem with the thermostat. They said you’re supposed to put cardboard in front of the radiator.
After five years. The mechanic showed me a thermostat in pieces.

It’s a 2018 FL Cascadia with DD15. I think the wind was blowing straight on that night. We run team and so seldomly park for more than an hour at a time, so that was the only experience with it this winter. However, running into headwinds this winter, I noticed the temp gauge dropping. I only got the truck in Feb, and didn’t bother putting on my winter front (although Ryder provided a cheap looking plastic one). I will next winter, if I’m still driving this truck.

My mistake, misread when you talked about the getting one at the Pete dealer for you last truck.

My 2018 Cascadia does fine keeping the interior toasty in the cold. The 'arctic package' helps but at high idle it should be able to keep the cab comfortable.

The Cali clean idle trucks don't high idle. Mine will go to 1100(not a clean idle sticker), and even then, I have been in places, with enough windchill in the minus 20s to not keep the temps good enough.

The winter front helps keep the DPF from.needing regen so often, it was more important on the 60 series with DPF.

Any old timers remember auto grill fins? They would open and close with temps.

Winter fronts (cardboard is for people who don't have a proper winter front) to keep the engine warm in temperatures colder than -14°F and in summer (bug screens) to keep bugs from getting stuck in the radiator.

When it's -31°F, there is no amount of heat a motor can generate to keep itself warm with a fully exposed radiator.
