My son has been asking to come out with me for a couple of weeks but I have been hesitant. This is one of the most dangerous jobs in the world and though I’d be proud of him if he wanted to do this for a living, I want him to live to be old enough to make that decision. Also, I’d be scared he’d be bored to death. Don’t wanna ruin his potential career choice by having a bad time now when it would be more palletable when he’s older.

No! You'll just get him addicted to trucks.

Happened to me. My dad started taking me when I was about 3, and I've been in love with trucks ever since. True story.

i told him this is a serious job and serious business. he needs to behave himself, especially when im backing into a driveway off the street. i have a couple of farm driveways that are still a challenge. what makes this such a dangerous job? i would say the most dangerous time is the dead of winter. extremely dangerous. other times its other jerks on the road.

    do it!!!!!!!!!!

I know when I was a kid (well a little guy, I"m still a kid at heart) i would have given body parts to go do it.

Yeah, maybe it might not be what I thought it was but it still would have been great!!!!!!!!!

but yes, he might get bored, but ya never know, ti's up so high it's a whole different view of the world.

let him take pictures too, so he has something to show.

im not really sure if taking your child out over the road is a good idea. i could see a child getting bored with that. local route, we will see... but we go home at the end of the day, so he might do ok
