Not only this but the APUs never ever work it seems. In my almost 2 years here in 2 different trucks my APU has worked maybe a total of one month. Mine is currently down now. Also as a company driver it is next to impossible to get them to route you in somewhere to get it fixed. It is just beyond ridiculous.
Companies that don't allow idling.

So much for being an independent contractor.
Prime is crap, not doubt about that. I'm just wondering how the guy didn't wake up long before hypothermia set in? If it drops below 40 F in the sleeper I am up in short order.drvrtech77 and Rollr4872 Thank this. -
If you do some googling you will find there are a few drivers every year that go to sleep and freeze to death in their sleep. You would think they would wake up, but not all do.Bluedew and Oldironfan Thank this.

Millis has no APU, but I idle my truck more often than not.
I’m not sweating while I try to sleep for anyone.
Well, in the army I did, but I’m not young anymoreBluedew and Oldironfan Thank this. -
Yes they do. If I remember correctly, they have a similar 30/70 policy. But with the optimized idle they have, you can use climate control to trick it into running as much as you want.

It is a nationally approved "thing" with each individual state having the ability to allow or not.Oldironfan Thanks this.
