Hey guys im new to the forum and have 6 months experience. Over the weekend i recieved a overweight ticket in Missouri for 2210lbs over on my trailer tandems.
I also recieved a citation for not having the dot number on the right side of the truck.
Just trying to figure out how much ill be paying.
My gross was 76xxx and after sliding my tandems and scaling at a pilot i was still over by 40lbs.

Less than 200.00 bucks. I was over on Drives last year like 2400 lbs as I filled up right before the scale. Truckers Path showed it closed but bingo it was open. There cheap there. Did they actually write you a ticket for no numbers on right side? Just carry a Sharpe and write it on the truck. WD 40 will take it right off.

Yes i found that link too. And yes they wrote me a ticket for no number. The inspection officer had no manners. It was kind of un believable. She asked for paperwork and got mad when it took longer than 3 minutes to retreive. Then asked me to pull somewhere else. During inspection gave me unknown hand gestures and got mad when i didnt know what they meant. Right left were obvious but the others were confusing.

Why didn’t you check your axle weights? Why don’t you have DOT numbers on the truck? Your going to real fast that those violations will catch up to your driving record really quick if you don’t start paying attention. Seems your more worried about the fine then making a dent on your driving record.

In a moment of honesty I admit to a bit of self restraint. I have a bit of a twitch over my right eye that develops when I start to suspect I am not getting the (whole) story. That overweight ticket does not concern me for a green driver to get. However what makes me want to start cussing is what kind of a jakeleg operation are you driving for? What in the name if all that is holy are they doing putting a CMV on the highway that is NOT road legal? Somebody needs smacked across the side of their head here. NO DOT numbers on the side of the truck or on the fuel tank? My god I knew better then that when I was 10 years old. I'm sorry but this kind of crap irritates the hell out of me. Hand, I mean this with all my soul and spirit, YOU need to really reassess continuing to drive for this operation.

3 minuets to get paperwork! don’t you always have that a arms length? I’d have been mad too. You probably had to dig through the mountains of papers stuffed in your dash.

Get a 3 ring notebook with plastic sleeves. Organize your required papers so next time you an show them before officer finishes sentence. A strip of duct tape and a marker pen can solve the dot# problem till you get back to the boss and hand him the ticket.
