i was looking into the physical requirements for Melton, and it all looks like what seems to be standard for what I’m seeing for a lot of other trucking companies. Do a physical, be able to lift a certain amount, be able to squat, duck walk, climb onto and off of a trailer, all that stuff. I also saw though that the do ergonomic testing. I was looking and haven’t really been able to find any information on what ergonomics testing is so I was wondering if anyone here would be able to explain what it is and what is involved with it. I’ve heard of companies doing an agility test, is an ergonomics test the same thing or is it something else?

For ergonomics, We had to watch a video of a computer generated person climbing into and out of a truck, adjusting seat for proper posture, and let them tell us to stop every 2 1/2 to 3 hours, get out and walk around 15 minutes,so you won’t have back problems for being in sitting position to long, then acknowledge you seen the video and go back to the real world of driving/ on duty 7 1/2 to 7 3/4 hours squeezing in a 30 minute lunch, finally finishing your dayRollr4872 Thanks this.

Thank you for the reply. So it’s basically just them telling you how to do the job safely and then making sure you understand it?
