And thats what exactly what happens. Where as if you could simply walk back and push a coupe of valves or hit a couple of toggle switches you would be much more likely to lift the axle when empty or with a short miles light load.
-
Ya, I just seem to recall him talking about doing that last year.

Just a Curiosity question don’t your trailer ABS light come on in the cab when running with the axle lifted mine will come on every now and then just from having the rear bags dumped
-
You got to have the abs brain reprogrammed so it doesn't light up from the different wheel speeds. Otherwise yes, it will light up every time you hit the brakes cause the front acle will lock up. Yet another reason to get the freespinning kit from Hendrickson. It has solenoids that go in the air lines that shut off, preventing the front axle brakes from applying.
The after market kits might be a couple hundred dollars cheaper, but thru won't come with fittings and you gotta take the trailer to a shop to reprogram the abs brain (and hope the tech had a clue and doesn't put the wrong program in). By the time its all said and done the cost difference is about the price of a good steak. The hassle and time of getting to a shop threat knows what they are doing is worth more than the few bucks you will save. If you want to save money then pick it up from Hendrickson in Ohio and save on the shipping. The shipping cost alone probably makes it a wash money wise between aftermarket and oem.Highway Sailor and taodnt Thank this. -
That was at a individual repair shop. There clutch for my truck is very expensive. I would have to dig the receipt up but if I remember right the clutch kit was $1300-$1400. I know I got charged book time on the labor cause that's how shops charge. I don't have a problem with it cause I've been on that side of it and that's how we made money. Get good at something and you can do it in less time than it pays. That's why most mechanics love brake jobs, v easy money. On a car it usually pays an hour or better per axle and can be done much quicker. It was an expensive job but it's all part of doing business.Highway Sailor Thanks this.

My abs is on rear axle anyway

Yes I did but it's a real pitaHighway Sailor Thanks this.

If u take it to a shop they just move the sensors to the rear axle

We found the kit closer so I should have it Friday. Maybe after I get my apu installed I'll try to install it myself.
