this is probably a stupid question but how did you owe the company so much money every week?

As a Driver for many many years and in fact got my start from CRST,,As long as you surrender your unit at a terminal,,empty trailer in tow and in respectively clean condition then NO ,,,Abandonment will not be an issue.I worked there for 6 weeks back in 91 after coming home from Desert Storm,,,Back then the Cab Overs only ran 55,,,So i surrendered truck and resigned,,Then made mistake #2,,went to Cannon Express out of Chickendale,Ar,,Well from there i bought my first trk,,,then the 2nd,,many years later i am now at 17 trucks with my own Authority and aside from finding decent Drivers to place in a new trk every year,,buisness is good,,Hang in there and just cover yur ###,,things will work out.

I just cannot believe what I read and hear every where. I was being sarcastic ! I believe most of it. What these companies do to people is beyond belief.

Regarding the the original subject, It's been said but I will say it again, always return all equipment to where the company want's it. Drop lot's don't count, they will want it at a terminal. Don't even worry about a two week notice, if you are really that bad off where you are then get out NOW and do what you need to do.

And abandonment pretty much nails the coffin shut on driving all together in the future. Even if you intend to never drive again, return their truck to them. Most companies will buy you a bus ticket home...at least if you ask. Or you could work for a company with a terminal ten minutes from your house, if that's even possible for you.

I wouldn't say they are a top notch company. About 2 years ago they started calling a friend of mine who I was leased to. CRST was wanting us to haul military equipment out of Ohio down to Virginia and the Carolinas. We agreed upon a rate with the stipulation that the fuel surcharge is %100 pass through. Well as anybody knows with goverment work the rates are on the bill of lading. When we billed them the fuel surcharge listed on the bills they replied with paying us about %75 of it. They claim that the bills were forged. Never heard that excuse...especially when the bills are concerning goverment property.

I don't know what they are like for company drivers. All I can say is cover your rear and get everything documented to the end.

  9. crst is kinda like the men in black they only want the best of the best of the best and when its time to pay you they are like the men in black as well noone knows who to call or where the payroll department went
