Yeah, those were the days. Popping pills to stay awake, running 2 log books, expected to be driving 17-18 hrs straight.....

 

Hmmmm wonder why you got your exit orders? "may " be more to this story then your letting on.

What's a driving test? I only had one for a job a swift. The rest of my employers must have seen that on my record and thought he does not need a driving test.

Guess it depends on the company. Seems it is mainly the large carriers that give them. I have had several jobs where the orientation was about 30 minutes, went and took a drug screen, and went back to the yard and they gave me the keys and fuel card. They gave me a load within the hour and I was on the road. As far as the drug screen, they did not wait for results, and no driving test or red tape whatsoever-simple.

 

I work for a small (25 trucks) company. I did about a 10-15 mile road test.

Did orientation with the owner for about 30-45 minutes and got keys and a credit card.

 

Maybe he is referring to the country and not the bird.

Did the gun still have ammunition in it? I would have been on my 3rd reload by the time the cops got there.... Just sayin'
