Pack it up everyone, post of the day winner right here.... -
I remember when I was in Okinawa with III MEF G3 at Camp Courtney. Reading the first iteration of this thread. That was when JCT was a place you aspired to be at. They didn't hire anyone who could fog a mirror, they were looking for quality and for drivers who wanted to own a truck and make a lot of money. When I got in I was proud to be in that "club" and made plenty of money. It appears, especially after talking to the recruiter a couple months ago, they are now just desperate to get meat-biscuits in seats. Sad. So, you start hiring Swift level drivers, now the insurance needs more supervision of drivers.
CannonballAA, Rugerfan, MachoCyclone and 1 other person Thank this. -
Ya, when I hired on years ago I had to wait 6 months just to get a seat in orientation....now its 6 days from application to driving.
Jarhed1964 and CannonballAA Thank this. -
OTR Trucking isn’t Trucking anymore. Follow me here, it’s no longer about a driver becoming a dispatcher and the owner knowing your name. It’s no longer about being able to stop midday and get a good meal and having to call to get your dispatch. Now it’s all corporate ####### who haven’t ever driven a truck. How they think this is a good idea is a mystery to me. My hope is that this backfires so badly that they go the route of swift and pull out the cameras.
Jarhed1964, popcorn169, Czar_Zero and 3 others Thank this. -
Ya well like I said, if they try to tell me they have to install a camera in MY truck...my names on the title....I'll tell them "No, you have to take your stuff out of my truck and get your name off of it as well. I am terminating my contract." End of story.
Jarhed1964, CannonballAA, crxdc and 2 others Thank this. -
Turned out my 2 speeding tickets were both over 9mph over and I didn't qualify.
3 years later with a clean driving record I called again with my facts ready to go. They didn't care about any of that. Just how quick could I get to orientation..
It put me off a little. But not enough I guess. Should've seen more clearly the way things were going.
Still last 3 years have been fantastic. So sad to see this ship go down this road.Jarhed1964 and Kamkor Thank this. -
For what this is worth, and not really sure it means anything..
Just talked to another JCT driver who just left Sapulpa after getting his truck serviced. He was there for the last week and nobody ever said anything to him about the camera's. And no camera in his truck.
He's been at JCT since 2013.Jarhed1964 Thanks this. -
Kamkor Thanks this. -
CannonballAA Thanks this.
