I started this thread out telling you to go, if they told you to come.
But, we have a special place here in MS for people who are still growing at age 38 and beyond. I go once a month to visit a friend, and take him cigarettes. -
Sorry but no, I've never had a single run in with the police. No misdemeanors, felonies, jail time, or even speeding tickets.
the quote by gandhi appears at the bottom of all my posts and isn't directed to you.
We probably need a definition for what constitutes a bad decision, and yes, I know what they look like.

OFF ON A TANGANT
I read somewhere we need around 2 cops per 1000 population but statistics are very funny things.
My contention is we need zero police per 999 population and 2 cops per repeat offender.
now you can take that as a joke or gospel, either way it seems to work...

The key is to making sure all your loose ends are tied up, that you have proven over a long period of time that you have changed, and that you absolutely did not hide anything. DOT will slap the handcuffs on you while your taking the CDL test if they find anything outstanding. They do run your stuff while you are sitting there all day answering CDL questions and won't say a word until they got you unawares. Seen it happen... so don't let it... Once you get a CDL your DMV can't be sealed or expunged and everything you get convicted of (driving offense wise) will be laid before all to see until the end of time.

In Aug of 2005 I was arrested for failing to appear at a Child Support hearing that I knew nothing about. Due to the unfair Child Support laws in this country it is actually classified as a 3rd degree FELONY
Statute 941.05 Governors warrant for FTA Flagrant non-support. ( Thought I had 2 kids with a woman I was with for 6 years, after we broke up all HER friends told me I wasnt the dad, at the time I scrimped and saved enough for one DNA test ($800.00), sure enough I was not the father even though I had paid child support for a few years, I get none of that money back! So then she wasnt real cooperative in testing the other child! So yeah, I was pissed and didnt always pay and fell behind, you think they would at least credit the amount I paid on the one I have already proved I'm not the father on!)
I have been fired from Werner after 3 weeks (long enough to know I love this job and I can be really good at it someday!) and have been turned down by pretty much every other company.
USIS/DAC Criminal history actually shows it as a felony but doesn't say what it was for, Werner lied to me and said if I can prove it was ONLY for child support there would be "no problem". I recieved a copy of my report in the mail and it actually says "CONVICTED - NO"
So I am not a convicted felon but I am being turned down for every job I apply to anyway! I feel like I just wasted $6000.00 for a CDL I cant use!
btw, a little background on me and my situation. I have NO other arrests, before getting into trucking I was in Retail Loss Prevention for over 6 years and I cant believe I could easily get a job apprehending shoplifters, testifying at thier trials, etc but nobody will hire me to drive a truck!
HELP!

yeah... you need lots of help alrighty...
941.05 Extradition of persons imprisoned or awaiting trial in another state or who have left the demanding state under compulsion.--
(1) When it is desired to have returned to this state a person charged in this state with a crime, and such person is imprisoned or is held under criminal proceedings then pending against the person in another state, the Governor of this state may agree with the executive authority of such other state for the extradition of such person before the conclusion of such proceedings or the person's term of sentence in such other state, upon condition that such person be returned to such other state at the expense of this state as soon as the prosecution in this state is terminated.
(2) The Governor of this state may also surrender on demand of the executive authority of any other state any person in this state who is charged in the manner provided in s. 941.23 with having violated the laws of the state whose executive authority is making the demand, even though such person left the demanding state involuntarily.
History.--s. 5, ch. 20460, 1941; s. 1598, ch. 97-102.
Parents convicted of non-support are often put on probation so they can earn a living to pay the support. But some have no intentions of ever paying, and simply leave town.
One of which, was not able to avoid authorities by moving out of state. The Floridian, age and address not available, is fighting extradition to Northern Kentucky after being picked up earlier this month. He last paid support in December 1997 and owes $18,000.
Flagrant non-support is a felony, Mr. Edmondson said, and most of the parents arrested face one to five years in prison and up to a $5,000 fine.
They have failed, refused and neglected to pay their child support, Mr. Edmondson said. We have exhausted all possibilities when we charge them with a felony.
sorry but no sympathy... for deadbeat dad's.
sorry but no sympathy... isn't that ironic. lol -
I am NOT a deadbeat dad! I was young and dumb and taken advantage of by an EVIL woman! I do not owe that much, so I was not put on probation or convicted or anything as I said this was a FAILURE TO APPEAR warrant because I had no idea I was supposed to appear anywhere! -
in most states your 1st felony can and mostly be kicked down to a Class A MISDERMEANER. but you have to seek it befor it can happen. unless the felony is above a class c. if its a class d felony on your 1st offense can be kicked down to it. but it only happens once. the reason for this is so you don't start out in the world as a conviceted felon (your 2ND chance at life). so that would be my advise on it. to you harleymanjax. call your local lawyers and see what they can do about it. i know in indiana it can happen. i seen it done.
now to smitty66 since it was sealed. what you need to do is again call your local lawyers office and ask them how much it would take for him to have it removed from your record. a sealed file means that it can't be reopened. the case that it was under has no more meaning then the girl nexted door does. so call you a lawyer and see what they tell you -
thanks everyone for all your info; i need them all having these small legals makes me mad i was young and dumb. i still have no other o.t.r company still willing to take me on other than CRE; everyone else either says, WE ARE NOT HIRING IN YOUR ZIP CODE OR ITS THE ECONOMY.
