I know bull haulers have to sleep, but the parking lot was almost empty, couldn't he have parked three or four spaces away? I had driven till late at night and he pulled in after most drivers had left the next morning. I understand there are a different set of rules during the daylight.

What is more irritating than an air horn at 2a.m.? Someone banging on your door at 2 a.m., you get up thinking something is wrong and it turns out to be a lot lizard.

Ha ha, 40 minutes to park at the Pilot in Minooka, Il? From what I remember, that sounds about average for that truck stop, isn't it?

The last time I was there, I backed into a spot beside a Covenant Transportation Volvo that was piloted by the most nauseatinglyenormous husband-wife team I have ever seen. These people where huge. Unfortunately, after they pulled the blinds on the truck, I was horrified to watch it begin to rock side-to-side in a freightfully familiar rhythm.

I grabbed the CB and pointed it out to a few other drivers, and we all laughed, hooted, and hollered at them. A few drivers even tugged the airhorn as they drove past on their way out.

Everytime I see a Covenant truck, I shudder ...even to this day.

...but maybe they were just doing sit-ups?

I avoid that Minooka Pilot like the plague!
In various places, I've heard the air horns at all hours, the jakes flying in to the truck stop at 3am, etc. So annoying... although, since I pull a reefer, I hear some folks don't like us to park next to them, either.
Brickhauler, how do you know about the drug deals at W Memphis??? Hmmm???
In the spirit of that game, though... I pull off the exit and hear the Mystery Lady once again trying to sell any number of things on the CB radio. Where am I?

Whats worse than the air horn is the clown that has a back up alarm and takes 40 mins to back in. By that time I am so mad I am almost read to commit bodily harm.

Back in the "day" we used to avoid anything that wasn't a mom and pop for many reasons. Mostly the ones mentioned in here, thanx to the "new breed". But we could even park on the side of the road then...and in most parking lots.

Sorry if I come across a little upset but I feel some of these truckers that park in unsafe spots or in spots that block others should be dragged out of their bunk and taught a lesson right in the lot. These are usually the "bigger" guys that thinks their muscles mean they can park just about anywhere because the have no ethics. They were probably the high school bully that never graduated. I had a guy block me in on the ohio turnpike a month ago. I politely asked him to pull up about 5 ft so I could get out. He gave me an angry look and pulled up 2 ft. I came back to ask him to pull up a little more and he freaked out on me. Used every curse in the world. He eventually moved up for me but I was in the process of getting my 4 D cell Mag lite when he did. I am usually a shy calm guy but we all have our days when we are worn down and need an outlet. These guys will get theirs eventually.
