For what it's worth, for every guy out there going "Aww ####" there is a guy like me who used to drive reefer (now dry van regional LTL) and I sleep like a baby next to a reefer driver. I also idle my truck for AC tho so that might dampen the sound to me.

True, if I roll up next to a guy who's high idling, especially when its relatively nice outside, I generally don't feel that bad. His engine can sometimes drown out my APU even..unloader Thanks this.

Living in South Texas, it's generally never nice outside, except January. It's pretty reasonable temperature wise in January lol.

Colorado native. Moved here after a short stint at JCT (why I still look at this thread from time to time) in April of 2014 for the oilfields. I'm used to it by now. but man I do miss me them Colorado summers. I guess the trade off is zero to no snow and ice. Used to deliver soda over Molas pass and Coal Bank in Colorado winter. I'll take the heat and humidity over that any day lol.
Stupid question. JCT still paying that low $.90 cpm? Or did they finally up it when the surcharge tanked?

I’ve lived in the mountains most of my life. Lived in Alaska for many years as well. So I think I’m qualified to say that there are few places as serene and peaceful as a full truck stop in the summer. I mean I often shut my truck off, roll my windows down, and nod in appreciation to the driver to my left or right, as we listen to the gentle breeze blowing through the trees. The sounds of birds chirping and maybe a flowing creek off in the distance. Yessir, few places are a peaceful and quiet as a truck stop. So it’s no wonder why there are so many angry people when this tranquil place is disrupted by these young kids and their rock and roll and reefers running at -10. Don’t these hoodlums have some better place to park? Don’t they realize that Cletus the FlatBed Driver needs his beauty sleep? For shame you unrestrained and uncaring reefer drivers...for shame.

Am I the only one: That parks in the back corner by myself with 3/4 of the lot open and the loud af reefer has to come and park next to me? Joking. I may no longer pull temp control but not bothered by them. The load apu blowing black smoke at me is a different story lol
