That's insane they don't use the original entrance gate up top. LTL barns are designed for counter-clockwise traffic so that you are always set up for sight-side backing. Going in the bottom gate sets you up to exclusively blind-side unless you spin around in that lower-left area. Crazy. If they only want to use one gate it should be the other one.

I was going to say it just takes practice; it looks like you'll be getting plenty of that.

They certainly didn’t think of that at our terminal.

Setting up is the same as a rightside back just opposite.
Practice . Practice . Practice and GOAL . GOAL and GOAL.
it's really not that big of a deal after you do it a few times just like right side backing.

One of the things I do, is move the right mirror out wide to see the rear of the trailer.

If he is driving a day cab, no problem, as a right hand back is not blind, as the back window gives a good view. If there is a trailer on the dock to the passenger side, I would definitely do the blind side back with a day cab. Done that before....

The worst spot to back on that map would be the upper right corner...is there room to swing in there to even set up? Especially with a sleeper cab....that would really be tight....have to jack knife it to spin tractor to the left?

Really?! Central Transport in Cincinnati is the same way, which I don't understand considering there were two gates originally and the wrong one (in my opinion) is chained up. The way I see it, if you wanna keep one gate closed, fine, but make it the other one so that most doors are sight side to the inbound drivers. That way you'd only have to spin around and blindside into the last few doors at the bottom right in the picture instead of into the majority of the doors.

The upper right corner is easy. You just drive backwards and sight side into the dock. The hardest area for me is the upper left corner all trailers are a minimum 48ft, and you have to blind side. On Friday the trucks stay connected too so you now have even less room to work with.

I'm in a day cab dual axle 99% of the time.

Also when you pull out from the dock on the upper right corner you can't turn left not enough room. So you have to uturn next to the truck on the upper right. You cant make the turn if the driver is hooked to the trailer you smash a side fairing with your trailer.

    I'm struggling :p
I'm blessed right now that I'm on the easier side to dock, but I've been blind backing even though I don't have to for some practice.

The way I do the upper right corner is spin around near the line haul double trailers, and just straight back and set yourself up for a sigh side 90-degree
