The W9 is still around, for a limited time at least...that's about as close as you can get to the old school look these days.
Just hate the way these newer trucks look

The modern aero trucks look and are designed the way they are for fuel economy first and foremost.
Secondly it's for driver comfort as the interiors and electronic Gizmo's are attract new drivers to the industry that otherwise wouldn't look at truck driving as an option.
That's why the OEM's are making automatic trucks as standard equipment off the assembly line vs. manual transmissions as a majority of new drivers don't even know how to drive a manual transmission car.
With e-commerce at the forefront of consumer spending, mostly everything purchased online is shipped by truck to its next destination.
If you want less headaches and want to keep as much money you make in your wallet, I would highly recommend keeping your pre-emission truck as these newer truck are a bigger money pit then the one you already have.
I have a 2001 Volvo 770 with a 13 speed manual that I've owned since 2004 and it's in excellent condition, but with all the problems I read and see with these new automatic transmission trucks with their critical braking and distance event sensors, yaw sensors that report everything to big brother.............no thank you.
I've sat inside a new 2018 Volvo 860 with a I-Shift and thought it would be nice to upgrade to something newer, but than I start thinking of the payments and all the potential emission and after treatment headaches and I suddenly get a reality check and say nevermind.Last edited: Aug 18, 2018

I was looking at new Cascadia's over the last couple weeks and the exterior style is pretty ugly. I'm going to stick with KW T680. At least they haven't changed the look in a few years.

If you want a new truck go buy one. W900 still looks the same as it did in 2005. 389 basically looks the same as a 2005 379.
