Employee at Tacoma Loves told me today they are closing on Sep. 4th @ 7am for 6 months for renovation. She said it would be at least six months but "probably more". It's about time.

Link? See nothing on their site or anywhere else on the web so take it with a grain of salt...

As horrible as that place is, it does provide some parking for those brave enough/lucky enough to stay there. With a location like that, I bet that place just rakes in money. Last thing that area needs is even less truck parking options. Not to mention fueling and using the cat scale.
Maybe they will build a multi story parking garage with 1200 spaces. -
City proposal notices posted all over the place, so yes, it’s happening.Aamcotrans and DTP Thank this.

No link that I'm aware of. I'm a local driver and don't go to Loves often. I just stopped in today on my way home from work to get something to drink and found this out. The employee told me this after I jokingly asked her if they were going out of business (I asked her this because I noticed that there was an unusual amount of bare shelf space, particularly all brands of soda). I asked a different employee about it a few minutes later and she confirmed it. Maybe it's true, maybe it's not but I believe it.
I bet the owners of The Mustard Seed are pretty happy about this. They have everything Loves has and then some....fuel, food, showers, scale, parking, truck wash, maintenance bays.Last edited: Aug 19, 2018
DTP Thanks this. -
After Love’s gets rebuilt, though, the Mustard Seed oughta be the one who gets nervous. That place is a dive, too, it just has more real estate (for now).

There’s more than enough demand to support 5 or 6 poorly ran truck stops in and around King county.

Agreed.

True. Once I hit the road a couple months ago, I was shocked to find out how many truck stops are around just in the I’d and southern Oregon area alone. Seems like there’s at least one of practically every offramp.

Last time I stopped at that “mustard seed” dump they didn’t have any showers, and parking is really expensive.JReding Thanks this.
