Happens alot. No big deal. Mine leaked for almost a year. It's more of an annoyance than anything.

The dweeb in our shop actually found something that works really well in this case. It's a swivel fitting for the hot air hose. I think he said it was like $150, but it seems to work really well. If I find a picture or a link, I'll post it

What are you guys hauling to be so nonchalant about a leaking hose? I would think it would be some non-flammable inert gas or something comparable. I know it's not gasoline.

Hot hose in reference to the 3" air line going from the blower to a pneumatic trailer.

Hot hose refers to the hose connecting the blower to the pneumatic tank, because it gets pretty toasty when in use. Most of the stuff hauled is no different from like a grain trailer. But there are some stuff that I've heard you want to avoid breathing in. I hauled a lot of catalyst, which is used in gas refineries, and there were some that would have cracks in their pipes that would spit product out and they wouldn't care.

Where I work we haul different types of cement, fly ash and, on occasion, roofing granules.

So the only real danger is from the dust of the product. Not so bad.

That’s not necessarily true. There’s no danger from dust of the product because the only thing going through the hot hose is hot air.

There is danger, however. If that hose pops off and you’re close, you could potentially get burned by the hot air, or the hose flying at you from the pressure.

The risk is low compared to something like a tank full of acid or whatever, but you can still sustain an injury.

Can you provide the link? I’d like to see it, and maybe show it to the owner of the company. He’s up for just about anything if it makes sense and helps us out.

I'd be interested too. We run a 45 degree angled fitting on both tractor and trailer side of the air hose. It keeps the strain off of the fitting.
I'd be interested in seeing a swivel though.

Once I find a link, I will post it. I'm going out this afternoon, I'll snap a pic of what I have on my trailer, and see if I can find where it came from
