Thank you, sir. Decided I'd let BD or others keep his thread alive ;-)

Very good for you...This model would work the best with straight through deliveries. The hardest part is to find them. Otherwise, there are many good runs like that but their scheduling sucks, leaving you with no chance to reload soon enough to get another load. For example, once I thought about running 230 miles for $1000-1100 from North West Chicago area to Michigan and go back empty and reload, 4 loops a week...but even that was inconsistent with delivery times - the shipper was FCFS but the receiver had different appointment times and always the next day deliveries. A chance to loop back and reload could not be there every time. So you're doing great managing this way of running. For me, it is perfection of how a solo owner operator should make money.

Yeah, it is challenging at times to tie everything together.

I have to flip my clock at times and run at night, do a few 8/2 split berths, etc, to make it work.

Moral of the story is if someone is the kind that has to get to the truckstop by 2 p.m. in order to get their spot, forget doing this LOL

If you can park your truck at the house, maybe using PC going back there from the last receiver could be something that's not very daring? Back to a truck parking location (aka terminal) - no, per FMCSA guidlines, but home...could be all right.

I use pc frequently, especially from my house back to where I drop my trailer.

In addition, I have discovered a few "hide outs" near many of the places I go.

LS as I understand, won’t let us do this. TO the house is ok, BACK to the trailer they say is returning to work. Or so they say.

I spend almost all my time on the clock nowadays - I rarely run short on my 70, the 14 is my greater enemy.

One more reason I like being independent in the way I am. If I want to pc, I'll do it ;-)

I may need to revisit the PC rules. If I make a delivery and plan on going home for the weekend, I use PC to get back to my home base (yard where I park the truck and hop in my personal vehicle). Is this not kosher?

Also, solid numbers running locally. That is the kind of running I have been doing since getting my authority and have not done as good as your numbers for September, but have been doing alright I feel.
