Anyone hazard a guess the price of a new X15? There’s a dirt cheap Prostar with a Maxxforce that we were thinking of gutting and just wanted to know ballpark range to see if it’s worth it. My guestimate was 40k but anyone know for sure or would advise otherwise doing this. Truck is with a good company so I know it’s been treated right and the km’s are low (certainly from the maxxforce lol). Just want to know if it’s worth it from your opinions.

Phone cummins or your dealer. Engines are so new noone has bought a drop in yet.
Then price out harness, aftertreatment, fan hub, accessories......

I believe the price of an X15 600 long block with extended warranty is close to 60k CAD. Plus, plus, plus.

Is egr and ecm tuning and exhaust work etc not an option? I always wondered how those maxxforce engines might do with some aftermarket support

Unless you yourself is doing the work it just wont make financial sense to buy a Maxfarse only to install an X15.

I would agree with you but he can’t do that becuase of his vin number. Truck was an original epa truck. Even so, this makes no sense to buy a newer truck just to swap out one emissions motor with a better emissions motor. All the cost of that would be insane and then stuck with emissions issues down the road. If the poster wants to do something that makes more sense, buy an older non epa truck that’s in great shape and rebuilt the motor in that.
