I was told as you go through tool booth there's scales that weigh you and it charges you more the heavier you are. True/false?

How do they determine what to charge you then when you're heading to Ohio if there are no scales?

    Incorrect.

Toll Calculator that is the PA Turnpike toll calculator.

Edit: you’ll notice scales in the road as you enter the toll boths. That’s where they get your weight from. With the few high speed ez pass sites they put in, i don’t know how they end up calculating weight. They must have scales in the road i just haven’t noticed them

I know. My question to the above poster was rhetorical. The scales are there. They have to be to properly determine tolls.

476 is way too tight in a lot of spots, never ending construction and idiot 4 wheelers flying 70-75 in the 55 zones

    Blackshack46 and DSK333 Thank this.

You drive over the weigh in motion axle scale. It adds up your weight. And puts you in a weight class. *If your loaded, slow down when you drive over scale. If you go to fast it has been known to put you in a higher class*

Dino soar, roshea and DSK333 Thank this.
