Not in LTL, but the advice given on here a year or so ago was very useful; go visit the barns and keep your ears and eyes open. If you find a good barn you'll get the best benefit out of the ones at your current company, being treated well. I also talked to drivers I saw taking their 30 mins every chance I got.
With your adaptability and safety record, you would also be a great hazmat applicant, the tanker places and cryo places seem to be looking, cryo is a little confusing right now because of mergers.

Uhh why would somebody park right in front of a loaded trailer? Plenty of available spaces around... what a douche nozzle

R.R., being valued is one of those intangible benefits that many don't know exists. Unfortunately it doesn't pay the bills.
Many places will start at the bottom of the pay scale regardless of experience. Some, are open to negotiation.
You're in a unique position right now. You are employed, with time off and proximity to competitive work places. I would go talk to them, maybe throw an app in at one or two. See what shakes out. At the very least you are employed.Mike2633 and road_runner Thank this. -
Time or money. You can usually get lots of one, but only at the expense of the other. It's a lot harder to balance them out so you can benefit from both. I wish you luck.

Back in the straight truck tomorrowI will be in Nj right past the border. 2 of my first stops are in high school and another is university. The rest of stops are residential. That should be fun
will have to call people half hour early to let them know I'm coming... they usually don't answer anyway
what a dog and pony show
Did I mention already how I hate doing straight truck deliveries?
Maybe I'll get a call for the road run in the morning instead....Mike2633 and road_runner Thank this. -
Got to watch some walnut show off his not so superior skill at backing his lead box with a dolly hooked to it. He didn't seem to mind he was blocking in 3 trucks that were ready to leave.
Between him and the slick custom w900 I saw laid over in the median, it was an eventful night.LoneCowboy, misterG, Mike2633 and 2 others Thank this. -
