I recovered one last week from Washington state. Dropped my trailer at a tow yard went and got the trailer from the drivers house, drove back to the tow yard and had it decked on top of mine... Then in Louisville it was unloaded by a tow truck. I'd imagine all that gets charged back to the driver...

    Cheap? No.

Not only does it get charged back, you negotiate the rate, it can be very expensive to essentially abandon equipment. Those recoveries can pay very very well if you stick up for yourself, not many people want to do them.

Think the worst part about being broke down. Is I have nothing to do. I'm in a bad area so not gonna go wondering around. I mean if I was a druggie I'm in the right area lol

Like I said it wasnt cheap. I was paid stop pay for dropping my trailer and for hooking to his trailer on top of the rate.

This guys trailer was a disaster, need all new tires amongst lots of other things. I would think that between the bill for me to haul it all the way to Louisville, and the repairs he would have been better off keeping it.

Truck number was 156xx.... Had to be nearly paid off with a number like that I would think????

I have a 157xx number, so I would assume the trailer would have less than a year left to be paid, I have 15 months.

I wonder how often such happens? I understand things do happen but I think it's pretty ridiculous on the drivers part to screw them with "come get your trailer" considering Mercer does no money down no credit check on the trailers they lease out, to help a driver get his business off the ground, for a good monthly rate.

Its not always abandonment. If safery cans you for some things they make you drop the trailer.
