Most reefer stuff out of Colorado isn’t regional.... a lot to PA, NC, or Oregon

Here's some examples I pulled off the loadboard app they make available to us.

Laporte CO to Salt Lake City, UT leaving the 16th and weighin 45,000lbs due there by the 17th. 1.80$ per mile of which you'd get 75% + 0.35cpm fuel surcharge so you're looking at 725$ish dollars for a days run in a reefer, if you can't negotiate a few extras.

Denver, CO to Hillsboro, OR leaving the 12th and due the 17th... you prolly gotta stay under it. It's a HAZMAT load weighing 42,000lbs. Paying 2.76$ so about 3000$ after fsc for a 1200 mile trip.

leaving the 14th from greeley, co to el paso tx... 2.08$ so you'd get about 1400$ on a 700 mile run after fsc.due the 17th... weighs 40000lbs.

As you can see the pickings for reefer on those departure dates within 150 miles of denver, co are slim. But @ Landstar it's all about building relationships with good agents that will give you the higher paying freight and accessorials you won't necesarily see on the loadboard.

Landstar does mostly dryvan and TONS of flatbed, lowboy, and stepdeck.

I don't know the flatbed side, my boss runs a reefer and two dryvans so I can tell you that with a reefer alone, hopefully you can find a good agent otherwise maybe flatbed?

Nope. Colorado is notoriously bad on the landstar board.

It's the only state I routinely see loads being offered for less than a dollar per mile.

There is so little coming out that they can find some sucker willing to take anything to get out. Personally I deadheaded out once (I had to get home) looking for Minnesota bound freight all the way back and found none. I had a load lined up (relay going to Sioux Falls - Fed Ex load) and waited 2 days for it and it got cancelled on me 12 hours before load time. I will NEVER go back out there.

    #### things must be brutal out there in the rest of the country lol. I run the Northeast mostly, my boss just booked me for overnite FedEx loads until April.

Living in the Northeast, I can tell you that getting out sucks in terms of pay it's only like a dollar fifty to the truck after Landstar takes their cot, but going back into the northeast or within the Northeast depending it's like two three or more dollars per mile.

Plus New Hampshire has some of the lowest fuel taxes in the nation, so if you can fuel up there you'll save money.

Its just a Colorado thing. Always been like that, and the outbound is usually heavy beer stuff too.

If Im going to a cheap area I deadhead halfway out and will take a load halfway back.

Why would I reward some conman broker when I can drive 500 miles and get a load that pays just as much from a broker that is honest? 500 loaded 500 empty, pays the same as the 1000 mile fully loaded from Colorado. So Ill take the one from the honest broker and save the fuel on half the load.

Ok..I'm Bluechiefs wife..got a question..trying to get ready for taxes. Is there any way to figure out what all of the deductions are for on the settlement summary for the year? There's a lot of abbreviations and I'm not sure what they are..also, has anyone received their 1099 yet or is that available to print off? WeveW only been here a few months so everything is still kinda new to me...

My expenses went to like the V column itemized by what they were on a spread sheet.
You need to sort through them, and enter the info week by week.
