and that's all that matters. I sure don't have the gift of gab like yourself Evertrucker but I share your views, methods of attack, and manipulating the system to benefit you and really do enjoy reading your weekly recaps here.

Just got the bad news from dispatch, or should I say a confirmation of yesterdays. That's when I got the message, "check back after 3pm" today for a load. I jumped the gun a little as usual and the answer was just what I had suspected. "It may be Monday morning". Good grief! This Texas freight situation is nothing short of horrendous.
The good news, I already have my update done for the week. Just waiting to see If I get lucky and get a load out tomorrow to add to the weeks mileage total before posting it.

^ Dang straight! This is also one of the few times I actually NEED to get home. I threw out my back somehow and NEED to get to my chiropractor because I am in serious pain and it won't get better until I do. Dispatch knows this and, of course, the one load offer I got doesn't pick up until tomorrow night and delivers in London, KY on Tuesday which is the day I requested to be in SC.
-
Same boat I'm in. Delivered yesterday around nooner just north of Dallas and got a dispatch this morning going from Hawkins to Amarillo...for a Monday pickup and Tues delivery. 468 miles over 96 hours. It'll be my third reset in just over a week.

Looks like the quote editing demons attacked ya there. Your quote gave me credit for Evertrucker's message. Not a big deal, I just don't want to steal ET's credit.
-
I can beat that one in spades. Just got a load offer to pickup Monday morning here in Fort Worth going to Paris, TX for the same day. That will have me sitting for just short of 3 days, then drive 135 miles to make my delivery and I'll still be in TX looking for another load by 10am. I'm a laid back guy, but this one has my blood boiling. I can deal with the short run, but if they pull the "no freight" thing on me when I'm empty I'm going to get a little bent out of shape.

I do have a decent prospect of getting a load out of Owens Corning there in Amarillo...last load I got out of there went to Portland, ME.
I was just thinking, Ain't the limit on shag pay 100 miles?
-
Shag pay is on a graduated scale. I'm not sure of the exact cut offs, but it's something like $35 for anything under 100 miles, $25 for 100-175 miles and $15 for 175-250 miles. I know these are not the right numbers, but close enough for generalization. My run Monday morning will get me an some extra pay and work out to either 54cpm or 61cpm and dispatch said they will make sure I get a run out of Paris on Monday when I'm empty.
I've pulled a load out of Owens in Amarillo going to Portland Maine before along with some other good loads.Last edited: Mar 7, 2009
