We have VERY few in our fleet stop on the side of the road.
However, I will say that we have no problems keeping our mechanics busy.
We have a fleet of 750 Cascadias from 2014 to 2018. One came out the shop the other day with 26 miles on it and it needed some work. Go figure.
Convince me on Kenworth vs Freightliner

That’s also why I chose this one.
It has proven itself as a very good reliable truck. -
This Freightliner is a Glider. Made in Mexico. DD Series 60 engine. No DEF.
It does a little better pulling in the mountains than my new Volvo did. While having almost 300k miles on it. It’s also a Columbia.
This company has done much to avoid the problems caused by the forced emissions of recent past. Local trucks, CNG. Etc.
The lady driver who runs this terminal, does a better job of taking care of the trucks/trailers than Denver did.
I’m loving this truck even more cause it’s kinda special. It’s done a ton of runs over the Co. Rockies.
Also...you drivers familiar with the ruts in I70 through the Rockies? Created by snow chains. Co is kinda lacking in fixing them. They’re a pain to drive. Always pressuring your steer wheels. Well.... I don’t know why? Maybe the tires? This truck handles them much better than any other truck I drove here. Much better control of the steers. -
DO NOT TAKE THE FREIGHTLINER!! Freightshakers might be cheap but are built terribly. The one I drove was a 2010 Cascadia and it lost 3 fuel pumps in a month, caught fire twice while pulling a hill one time bobtail another time with a flatbed with a flatbed on top. It rode extremely bad and drove terribly, rattled apart. It had a Detroit DD15 and a 10 speed eaten. Not a bad trans. But a terrible engine. Oh and I don't ever float gears and don't grind. I never shift over 1700 rpm.

Take the Kenworth as long as it does not have a Paccar engine.

He made the choice back in July.lovesthedrive, magoo68 and WesternPlains Thank this.

Honestly, I would be more concerned about the engine and transmission over the make and model of a truck.
Personally, if all else were equal, i would take a Kenworth over a Freightliner. The main reasons being that Kenworths have a desk that isn't complete garbage, and their microwave shelf will fit and secure a standard small microwave. -
Yup... sure did. Can’t believe anybody resurrected this thread. Have put almost 60k miles on this Freightliner. Has not failed me. Love it. Series 60 engine. 10 speed.
Now after the first of the year. I have a choice between Pete and Pete. 10 or auto. Doh!lovesthedrive and Boundtransport Thank this. -

That would be because of the wide cab. It may as wel be a cabover.
K-Whopper vs a Turdcadia???
How is that even a question???
