It is a cool crisp night in a small town just north of Cincinnati,where farming and trucking is the way of life;
Through this poem you'll get the feeling of what it's like to be a truckers wife.
We take him to work then follow him to the end of the lane;
The kids and I silently feel each others pain.
We turn left and he goes right;
He flashes his trailer lights as he drives off into the night.
I feel so empty, but he is the one that is all alone;
Hundreds of miles away and all he has is his telephone.
When unexpected things happen you call him to see what to do;
He seems to be upset and you feel he is mad at you.
Then you realize what is really wrong;
He wants to get to you but the distance is just to long.
Being and truckers wife when I lay down in our bed;
I think of him as he trucks mile after mile just to keep his family fed.

Wheelin on down, that lonesome road
Texas bound, with another load
Mile after mile, driven and logged
Weary, tired, mind in fog
Truckin, along
Singing, Buffett song
On, his way
Open Highway
Need to hit shower
Eat, hot meal
Good night sleep
For its back to the wheel
Guys' happy it seems
Living his dream
Leave him alone
To drive his purple machine
Hes' a hard working guy
Will see job to the end
Depends on his truck
For loves, like a friendBiscuit Roller and Baack Thank this.
