Where's u tankers loading at this morning

think im taking the week off. Since yesterday I've been sick as a dog. Can't sleep because im coughing/sneezing too much, not a great feeling to be out on the road. That and I dropped off my truck to get all the coolant hoses replaced with silicon, something that will last the life of the truck. Had one too many hoses get chaffed this past year of ownership.

 

Orientation was done yesterday. During the inspection they found a wheel seal leaking so I got that fixed this morning. Just waiting on the graphics to be put on and I'm headed home for a couple of days before I pull my first load on Monday.

Quick update for my ridiculous road life: Spent a couple days parked in Cheyenne a couple weeks ago waiting for I-80 to open up, finally got to SLC. Then a load from Wyoming to North Dakota, then a Wisconsin to Illinois. When I got there, it was the first time for a week that it was above zero when I woke up.

That didn't last long, though. The next day I had another Illinois to SLC, and when I woke up in Walcott at the World's Largest Truck Stop, it was -25° F on the thermometer, and -50° F wind chill. I saw lots of trucks stopped on the shoulder, apparently gelled up. Ever since I gelled once a year ago, I get super paranoid about it and make sure I've got my anti-gel in the tank in the right proportion, and No. 1 diesel if it's available.

Anyway, I got a day at home on the way back, and just delivered in Tulsa this morning. Tomorrow I load in Kansas headed to La Vergne, TN. Since it's winter, there's weather involved of course. This trip it will be freezing rain. I'm hopeful that it won't be bad, but the forecasts aren't really cheering me up either. I might go the extra 42 miles to bounce back down to I-40 and across instead of taking US 60 across Missouri. I hate both of those roads, for different reasons, so it's a tossup at this point.

 

Are you an oo? Are the rates good enough for the frozen tundra?

 

No, I'm a company driver. I don't mind cold or snow on the ground much, but I really don't like ice at all, or snow when it makes it so I can't see where I'm going. Anyway, just give me miles and I'm good, especially if they're western miles.

 

I loaded at Chevron in Louisville this morning, dropped that and picked back up the load of MCH I brought from NJ last night. Both stops and the tank wash are within 3 miles of eachother so I cant complain. Waiting for the escort to bring me in at ASRC(Michelin) to bring me in so I can unload, drop and pick up my other trailer to get on home tomorrow.

 

Things are good so far. Orientation was slightly chaotic / disorganized, but I got through it. Got paid to BT back to Chicago to PU a dropped trailer, but had to wait an extra day before I could leave because we couldn't get a hold of anyone to find out if the tank was unloaded. Did a couple preloads on Friday and left this morning to deliver in PA first thing Monday morning. I don't normally leave on Sunday's, but it's a good customer and another carrier no called no showed, so I stepped up. I've got a reload already coming back to MI, so I shouldn't do much sitting around other then waiting on the tank wash.

 

And my first time being in NJ in 20+ years and just about every interstate has a commercial truck ban. Wonderful.

 

I managed to get out of NJ. Roads were nasty and the plow guys have to be the dumbest in the country. I ran 95 to the PA turnpike. It's just raining so far.
