hello there everyone. I recently took my vgt turbo off and wrnt with BG turbo and its the best thing i have done! Power is unreal mpg had increased, but jake power sucks now but sure does sound good. I wanted to get some help if anyone has any info about adding a exhaust break. Can i use jake break and exhaust break. If so what exhaust break do i need? Will it help with slowing down with exhaust break? Will it get louder? Thanks

Guess my stuck post is going unnoticed? Oh well, it was worth a shot.

If this is an ISX. The engine brake is designed to work with VGT and it will be severely lacking in performance if removed.

Dont have anything for you on other options. Sorry.

Let me guess you have a ISX. only way to get Jakes back is to put a VGT back on or change out the cams... You really should of kept the VGT turbo...

My guess is it’s a series 60 Detroit.
I had the same dilemma a couple years ago with my 14.0 liter.
When I tuned mine I elected to keep the VGT turbo for that very reason (exhaust brake effectiveness).
    Best choice I ever made.

    60 series shouldn't have a VGT?

Anytime you make mods to an engine you have to give to get. ISX has a phenomenal Jake till you pull the VGT. Adapt your style of driving to what you have now and enjoy the rumble. That's the cheapest thing you can do. I'm not trying to be an ### honestly.

Series 60 14.0 liter has VGT starting on EPA 07 models.

Same advice applies to the series 60 Detroit.
