Coca Cola lost 1 of their long time drivers on Monday. He passed away right next to his truck & was discovered in the middle of the night by a motorist on the way to work . Don't know the cause of death but it can't be easy running from Fife Wa to S. Idaho & back with mty plastic bottles this time of year. RIP driver.
Lepton1, BoostedTeg, kemosabi49 and 1 other person Thank this. -
84 was closed in the Gorge most of the day. TV news was interviewing motorists who had been stuck in the queue for over 18 hrs. OSP delivering food, water and fuel to cars stuck in the mess. Multiple - multiple truck wrecks mostly drivers that did not obey chain control and lost in on the ice. Snoqualmie still closed WB. Had to take White Pass to get across. It wasn't bad. Blowing and snowing in East Idaho through Friday, with a flood warning issued for a possible rain-on-snow event.
Vancouver BC at a near stand-still this morning with 3" of snow.... LOL, them Canucks can be funny..... -
I just passed through the gorge. There was a SHIPLOAD of trucks parked on the westbound shoulder and all the streets in the city(The Dalles and/or Hood River. Not familiar with the area).
Oregon DOT missed a few spots. Cruising along, road is completely clear then all of sudden a patch of packed bumpy snow and ice. Look out the rearview mirror and see the trailer getting squirrelly. Nothing you can do except let off the throttle, but not too much. Now on to Cabbage.
Heads up. I-84 is closed WB at MM 234 due to a wreck.
Edit: As of 0230 I-84 is closed west of Ontario. There was a big wreck on top of Cabbage. I-84 was shut down at the exit for the FJ in LaGrande. I don't know if they shut it down to keep trucks from piling into Baker City and LaGrande or if there's another wreck. Sucky day to be going WB.Last edited: Feb 14, 2019
Reason for edit: UpdateLepton1 and TIMPTE 527 Thank this. -
I came through eastbound this morning loaded for Pasco Couldn't believe my eyes. Snowmageddon! 20 miles of trucks and cars lined up with 6" of ice pack underneath them. Went on to reload in Moses Lake. Now I'm at the Comfort Inn in Hermiston wondering how the hell I'm going to get back to California after what you just said. I knew as soon as they got that #### road open trucks will be trying to get through as fast as they can and just crash within an hour of it being opened.

That white powdery environmental disease has made its way over to Parley's Summit and chains are required.
