I always carry several different sizes of wires and a few pliers..... brings me reminiscences of my jeweler old times in Brasil.... one time, decades ago going up very steep hills in Rio to the fair where I used to sell my merchandise, one big rubber hose blew up.... broke up open and oil was spilling everywhere under the hood. I got some wire and rolled that around the hose... like wrapped the hose with the wire.... sorry my English is not that great to explain... but the temporary repair worked well and allowed me to get to the fair that day... so I could make some money and pay for a mechanic afterwards... :D

Ok... I'm back on the road since yesterday... this last so called "hometime" was one of the most tiresome "hometimes" I ever went thru.... for one week didn't have time to sleep much, to shower much, no time to even comb my long hair.... :biggrin_2552: It was awful...
Thankfully DSPs didn't have planned another load for me after my delivery yesterday and I could come to a near truck stop and sleep.... :biggrin_25518::biggrin_25518::biggrin_25518: and shower and comb my hair.... :biggrin_25519:
And still doing things in the truck that I didn't have time to do during so called "hometime"....

Gotta do some other things here now...

During hometime I bought a cooler from Amazon that I thought it would end my problems with Cooleman... but the darn thing wasn't getting cold and building ice under the motor....:biggrin_1square8:

I once had a Koolatron that worked for almost 2 yrs... but this one... :biggrin_25512: What a waste of time and money.... Had to send it back.... will get the refund 2or 3 months from now when I take another so called "hometime"...

Seems like a walmart dorm fridge would be cheaper for around $100.

That wire trick in the past for me has held exhaust systems from dragging on the ground. Alas Maine must have had a problem with people doing it and have made it a nono for the anual vehicle inspections. Besides, everyone needs coat hangers for clothing. In a pinch coat hanger wire can be used for welding wire.

Another fix that I recommend avoiding (use at your own risk!). If you are all out of fuses and need a temporary to get you down the road. For the flat fuses, a person can get two flat spade wire connectors and a piece of wire. Or if you have the older AGC round fuses you can (only works on the round ones) wrap it with aluminum foil. I do not recommend doing this as it is a good way to have a vehicle fire.

I have a small fridge... in the storage... but no room to put it in this truck.... some drivers have it on the bunk... I find that dangerous... need space in here for myself and my cooking... can't remove the cabinets.. they are one piece all the way from the floor to the ceiling... not asking company to remove the passenger seat either... too much work, wouldn't fit right and not sure they would agree...
For these reasons, I still use the darn Cooleman...
During so called "hometime" I went to Camping World, found nothing... went to Home Depot, Lowes, Bass Pro and found nothing... :biggrin_25513: Looks like folks here don't use those thermal electrical portable coolers very much...

Might need to visit a RV store, as they tend to be more specialized on 12 volt appliances

Yeah... I went to Camping World, the only RV store around where I was... and the only cooler they had was way tooo heavy and toooo big for the truck....
